A Japanese emissary to the Tang Empire who was promised repatriation if he captured the fugitive Lieutenant Li. After tracking Li down, Lai Qi unexpectedly allies with him to protect the relic-carrying caravan. They travel together to Chang'an, planning to resolve their conflict in a duel once the mission is complete.
