Protagonist who ascends the Yan throne after her father's death in battle. With loyal general Muyong Xuehu, she defends her kingdom. After being saved by hermit Duan Lan Quan, she falls in love with him and temporarily abdicates. She later returns to thwart invasions, confronts her treacherous cousin Huba, slays him in a duel, and restores peace to Yan.
