A deaf-mute child and patient of Mary who supposedly transfers to Boston but secretly lives in the house's crawlspace. He becomes trapped by Stephen and serves as the catalyst for Mary's realization of the truth. Mary saves him from Stephen's murder attempt, and they escape together to safety.
