A West Point-educated cavalry officer tasked with capturing Geronimo. He struggles between military duty and his growing respect for the Apache leader. Ultimately, he honestly negotiates Geronimo's surrender but is later punished by General Miles for insubordination and reassigned to a remote garrison.
