The ruler of Baghdad and father of the princess. He initially punishes Ahmed severely for his crimes and demands the princess marry a suitor, but later heeds her advice to reconsider. His city is temporarily conquered, but he ultimately rewards Ahmed with his daughter's hand after the city is liberated.
