A timid boy working in the laundry who is abused by Bråthen. After his abuse is reported to the warden, he is reassigned to distant duties. Overwhelmed by the expectation of returning to Bråthen, he drowns himself in the freezing beach waters, an event that sparks the inmates' uprising.
