Pres's new wife who accompanies him back to New Orleans after a year away. During the yellow fever epidemic, she initially begs to go with Pres to the Lazaret Island quarantine. However, Julie persuades her to stay due to the harsh conditions and lack of familiarity with Southern culture. Amy blesses Julie and Pres, allowing Julie to take her place.
