A senior U.S. Senator from Georgia and a close, decades-long friend of President Lyman. Tasked with locating the conspirators' secret Texas base, he is captured but uses his wit to persuade the base's deputy commander, Col. Henderson, to defect. He successfully escapes but is later recaptured and imprisoned in a military stockade.
