Tom Dobb's son who enlists as a drummer boy against his father's wishes. After witnessing battle trauma, he deserts and is later impressed into British service where he is whipped. Rescued by his father, he heals among the Hurons, reunites with the Army, marries Bella, and plans to start a farm.
