A smokejumper and protagonist who initially rescues civilians during a forest fire. Later, he discovers a group posing as Canadian firefighters are actually escaped convicts. He fights to stop the leader, rescue his hostage, and ultimately kills the villain in a firestorm, surviving with the hostage.
