A 10-year-old boy who survives his mentally ill mother's suicide attempt on a railway track. After a brief stint in foster care, he tracks down train driver Tom Stark. He forms a deep emotional bond with the Stark family, struggles with survivor's guilt, and eventually finds stability and a potential new home.
