A widow who initially rejects writer François Rollin's advances but later entertains him. She has a troubled past, having killed her husband and been acquitted via temporary insanity. Suffering from paranoia and mental illness, she kills her bodyguard, attempts to murder François with a straight razor in a hotel, and is ultimately shot by her lawyer Marc Rilson at a mountain pass.
