A revolutionary falsely accused of organizing a deadly sewer bomb explosion. He is the secret son of la comtesse Flaminia and Monsignor Colombo. Although initially rescued and hidden by the Bishop, he is later killed in an ambush by the Countess's jealous husband, making him a central victim of personal vengeance amid Papal political turmoil.
Both men are linked as co-conspirators in the revolutionary plot.
Colombo is the secret biological father of revolutionary Cesare Costa.
