A con man and brother to Rusty. He and his brother successfully swindle Quale out of his funds. They later loan ten dollars to prospector Dan Wilson, taking the deed to Dead Man's Gulch as collateral. Joe helps retrieve the stolen deed to secure the prospectors' wealth.
