An octogenarian pecan farmer and local celebrity in Hart County, Georgia. After his wife Cora's death, he begins seeing a mysterious white dog that only he can initially perceive. Despite his daughters' concerns about his mental state, he secretly travels to a school reunion. The dog's eventual appearance to his family and its disappearance before his death lead them to believe it was Cora's spirit.
