The male protagonist and governor's son. He secretly marries Chunhyang and departs for Seoul to take the official exams. After achieving the top score and becoming an officer, he returns three years later on a royal mission, discovers his wife's persecution, arrests the corrupt governor, and finally reunites with Chunhyang.
