Polish immigrant who arrives at Ellis Island with her sister. After being saved from deportation by Bruno, she works as a dancer and prostitute to fund her sister's release. She develops romantic feelings for Emil, discovers Bruno's deception, and ultimately leaves New York with Magda for California.
