Recently widowed Marine veteran who lost his only son in Iraq. He recruits his old Vietnam comrades Sal and Mueller to help collect his body and arrange a civilian funeral, rejecting the official military narrative. Throughout the journey, he relies on his friends for support and eventually accepts his son's wish to be buried in uniform.
