A naive and socially inept cowboy who travels to a rodeo in Phoenix. He becomes infatuated with Cherie, initially forcing her onto a bus and kidnapping her. After being confronted and beaten by others, he learns to apologize and show respect. His transformation from stubborn coercion to genuine understanding wins Cherie's affection, and they depart together.
