Former WWII fighter pilot turned minister, volunteers as a senior USAF advisor to train ROK pilots. Haunted by past guilt, he establishes a large orphanage, develops a relationship with En Soon Yang, returns to active combat, leads the desperate evacuation of hundreds of refugees, and ultimately restores his faith through his ministerial duties.
