Ernest is Eric's British companion, and the two decide to holiday together in the south of France. There, they are unwittingly drawn into Le Pirate's plan to smuggle jewels. Ernest competes with Eric for Claudette's affection, and the pair eventually become suspicious and begin investigating what is happening.
