In 2000 Van Hoogdalem met the Dutch director Theo van Gogh, with whom she directed four feature films, two drama series and a few single plays. In 2005 Van Hoogdalem directed her first solo film project. Since 2006, Van Hoogdalem has also worked for television as a director.
