Kornel Makuszyński (January 8, 1884 – July 31, 1953) was a Polish prose writer, poet, columnist, theatre critic and publicist, member of the Polish Academy of Literature. Before World War II, he was one of the most widely read, popular and literary prolific Polish writers. Author of cult novels for teenagers and children, such as: The Devil from Seventh Grade, Argument about Basia, Follies of Miss Eva, The Lady with a Wet Head and the Adventures of Koziołek Matołek.
