A juvenile delinquent at the reformatory who watches the arrival of the female inmates and attracts Kitty's interest. He physically assaults Furman, then, after a guard beats him, steals the guard's gun, knocks him out, and leads a revolt. Furman and Kitty ultimately persuade him to give up.
