Biography

Steve Arnold was born and raised in Seattle and completed his MFA in scenery design for theater at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. After designing scenery for small equity waiver theaters he worked in New York City assisting several established Broadway designers. He soon started getting drafting jobs on films and over the years worked his way up the ladder in the Art Department on a number of well known films including The Doors, Forrest Gump, The Hudsucker Proxy, and Bugsy which won an Oscar for best Art Direction. He worked as an Art Director on more than 20 feature films including Get Shorty, Face/Off, Unbreakable, Spider-Man, Van Helsing and Appaloosa before becoming a Production Designer. He has been the Production Designer of several independent feature films and collaborator with David Fincher, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Productions on hit shows including House of Cards Seasons 1-4, Mindhunter Seasons 1 & 2, Castle Rock Season 1, and recently Midnight Mass.
