Little Red Riding Hood travels through the woods carrying bread to an elderly relative. The Baker encounters her while seeking a red cape, and a wolf reaches the cottage before her, disguising himself as the elderly woman. Her journey therefore connects the Baker's quest with the danger spreading through the woods.
