Ryder is a ten-year-old boy and the leader of the PAW Patrol in Adventure Bay. He is told about a problem, activates the pups' blinking pup tags, calls the team to the Lookout, briefs them, chooses pups for each mission, and congratulates the team after the rescue, using the catchphrase Whenever you're in trouble, just yelp for help!
Ryder coordinates the rescue missions and organizes the pups after the meteor gives them extraordinary abilities. He devises several plans to stop Harold and the mayor, encourages Chase to accept leadership, and remains aboard the Lookout when it is transformed into a rocket ship and launched toward outer space.
Ryder leads the rescue team during the race and uses the Mobile Pit Stop to reach an emergency involving Jake and a racer trapped by giant snowballs. He encourages Marshall (voice) to keep competing and later works with Skye to free The Whoosh.
