Dan is one of the Captain's men, but he wants to leave the undersea city. He offers to help Ben Harris and Harold Tufnell-Jones escape in exchange for a pardon for his smuggling crimes. When the Captain discovers the plan, Dan is sent to the surface as an execution method.
