Biography

Garson Yu is an award-winning creative director and founder of yU+Co in Hollywood. Garson attended the Yale School of Art and upon graduating, he started his career as a freelance designer with R/GA. He taught graphic design at the School of Visual Arts and exhibited as an artist at Artist Space, PS1/Clock Tower Gallery, and The Dia Art Foundation. In 1993, Garson moved to LA and joined Imaginary Forces as co-creative director alongside Kyle Cooper. In 1998, Garson founded yU+co, a design company specializing in motion graphics for film and television and since then, he has collaborated with filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee, John Woo, Sydney Pollack, and Ridley Scott. Garson has won numerous awards and honors including a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Title Design for Dora the Explorer as well as five other Emmy nominations, the New York Art Directors Club Award, AIGA Design Award, and many others.
