The secret mastermind of the zombie crisis: a bullied loner who, weeks before the trip, enlisted fellow loner Steven in a 'Scared Straight!' style scheme to stage a fake zombie attack, get revenge on their bullies, and appear heroic to Tamra and Ever; a bus driver volunteers and ex-con Chip supplies the zombie-making drug. He lies to Tamra that zombies killed Ever, arms survivors, and is exposed when Tamra's blow uncovers his vanity mural. Ever injects him with the drug, transforming him; he is captured and later recruited in prison to relaunch the 'Scared Straight!' program.
