Biography

Michael Perfitt is an award winning music producer, mixer, and composer. He has contributed to acclaimed scores like Fargo, Hannibal, Heroes, Star Trek, Boss (Gus Van Sant), 20th Century Women (Mike Mills), Mozart In The Jungle and the Bling Ring (Sofia Coppola). He was nominated for an Emmy in 2017 for his work on Fargo and his composition work on the Nurse Jackie main title won an Emmy in 2010. Michael studied electronic music and engineering at San Francisco State University and has been creating music since a young age. He began his professional career in the 90's working with pop music producer Trevor Horn and sold over 30 million albums working with musical luminaries Madonna, Prince, Roger Waters, Fiona Apple, and Seal. Michael collaborated with Indian prodigy Shenkar (Last Temptation of Christ) to create the supernatural vocalizations and Doppler effects that became the signature sound of NBC's Heroes. He recently produced large scale orchestral scores for Lucy In The Sky, Three Christs, Mile22, Star Trek : Discovery, Star Trek : Picard, Fargo, Night Of, and The Umbrella Academy. Michael is a sought after collaborator due to a stylistic approach that merges contemporary composition and sound design....utilizing granular synthesis, tape speed manipulation, extreme time stretching, spacial disorientation, and timbre transplants.
