Charlie is a member of Jack Ellerman's gang and Cat's boyfriend when Ricky Flint becomes attracted to her. During the factory robbery, Charlie knocks out a police officer after Ricky cannot bring himself to do it. He later retaliates against Ricky by setting fire to Jim's lorry, badly burning Ricky as he tries to put out the fire; Ricky eventually attacks him at a pub.
