Harsha started off his career choreographing songs in films before moving on to make his directorial debut in 2007 with Geleya. He then worked on Birugaali (2009) and Chingari (2012), all of which did not do that well at the box office although his fresh approach was appreciated. He changed all that with his 2013 film Bhajarangi featuring Shivarajkumar which was a massive hit. He then directed the films Vajrakaya (2015), Jai Maruthi 800 (2016) and Anjaniputra (2017) before he directed Seetharama Kalyana (2019).
