The commander of Kamar's guard who is ordered to locate Sherazade. He betrays the circus troupe by selling them into slavery, but is later murdered by the vizier Nadan to cover up his treacherous actions.

A native islander sent by Zambesi to murder Dr. Lynd. He releases a tiger that injures Marzell and participates in a crocodile attack on the guides. He is ultimately killed by one of the surviving guides.
