Wolf is an outlaw leader who is actually rancher Pop Whittaker. He finds Colt after Colt collapses and takes him into his gang for two years, then deeds his ranch to Colt. Wolf is Beth's father; after being jailed, he reveals that he killed Durkin and Farley, and later joins the effort against the bandits.
Quist is a loyal henchman whose identity and public facade are used by Lucky Arnold to shield the real head of the crime ring from the Secret Service. Although Quist serves the gang rather than directing it, his apparent position helps protect Arnold while Holt and Kay Drew work undercover against the organization.
