Max is one of the pre-adolescent delinquent brothers from Hamburg at the center of the story. He and his brother Moritz cause trouble, steal a car that crashes into another vehicle carrying a senator's daughter, and are sent to a rehabilitation camp. There, the brothers seize the arsenal keys and use their leverage against the camp's operators.
Juli is an inmate who tells Marc he is sorry and urges him to report an incident that the account does not fully explain. He later dies after a suicide attempt and injures a guard. His death shocks the other inmates and prompts Kevin to challenge the staff, while Tommy and others debate whether the group could have prevented it.
