The Junger König is Aurinia’s father. He rides to war beside König Ewald and helps defeat the invading riders, but is mortally wounded. Before dying, he asks Ewald to protect his wife and daughter and arranges for Aurinia to marry Ewald’s son, Prinz Ivo, if she can find her own way to his heart.
