Biography

Karl got his start in the film business, traveling the globe shooting ski films for famed ski film producer Warren Miller. This brought him to Hollywood, where he got a job as the assistant to Oscar-winning VFX cameraman Wally Gentleman BSC (2001: A Space Odyssey), working on Francis Ford Coppola's One From The Heart. When the project finished, he was offered a job at Industrial Light & Magic (Lucasfilm) working on 'E.T.' and the 'Return of the Jedi.' 'The Right Stuff' followed and led to a long list of Hollywood movies, including, more recently, 'I, ROBOT'. Mixed in with the feature film work, Karl lent his cinematic skills to hit television fare such as 'Touched by an Angel' and 'Dawson's Creek'.
