Gospođa is Hamza’s wife and the mother of Miranda. During the siege, Hamza sends her and Miranda to Croatia for safety, leaving him in Sarajevo. Although she is not involved in the boys’ search or escape, Hamza repeatedly observes photographs of his wife and daughter, showing their continuing emotional importance to him.
