Adis is one of two orphaned boys who escape a massacre in their village and hide in Hamza’s home after reaching Sarajevo. He joins Kerim in searching for their aunt, while Hamza protects both children and seeks a way to evacuate them. Adis dies while they are attempting to cross the war-torn city.
