Píd'a is a young apprentice who falls in love with Maruna and arranges a date with her. After other girls disrupt the plan, he becomes upset and wanders through the amusement hall, where he offers a flower to Helena Vondráčková. A run of lucky events follows, and he eventually makes peace with Maruna and becomes her partner.
