Patrick Lumb was born in Dorset, England in 1966. At the age of 11 he moved with his family to Scotland and then at 16, left home to attend The Central School of Art, London. He went on to study Fine Art (Painting) and graduated with B.A. (Hons.) on his 21st birthday from Falmouth School of Art, Cornwall. In 1989 he moved to the US after being awarded a Full Merit Scholarship to the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After travelling extensively in the US and graduating in 1992 with a Master's degree in Fine Art, specializing in Film, Photography and Digital Imaging, Patrick returned to Europe, to take up a teaching position as Head of the Art and Design History Dept. at Oakham School, Rutland UK. In 1996 he moved back to Los Angeles CA, to begin a career in Film. Patrick and his wife Nancy were married in Los Angeles in 1991 and have three sons Myles, Pearse and Tate. They have a dog called Rex and spend their time between their homes in Los Angeles and Lucca, Italy.
