Sefer, a fisherman from the village of Mitari in Rize, is in love with a girl named Zekiye. Although Zekiye loves him, she refuses to marry Sefer because she finds him rude. However, Sefer kidnaps her and takes her by force, and Zekiye, unable to bear this insult to her pride, runs away from home. Sefer searches everywhere but cannot find Zekiye. Some time later, he hears that Zekiye has fallen into a life of prostitution in Istanbul. This time, Sefer searches for her in Istanbul and, just as he is about to give up hope, he encounters Zekiye. He is determined to kill her and restore his honor.
