Gene Starwind (played by Shigeru Shibuya) is a protagonist in Outlaw Star.
The protagonist who runs a small business on Sentinel III. After acquiring the advanced ship Outlaw Star and the bio-android Melfina, he leads the crew on a quest to find the Galactic Leyline. He ultimately confesses his love to Melfina and frees her, later reuniting with his friends. Melfina (played by Ayako Kawasumi) appears in Outlaw Star.
A highly advanced bio-android that can only interface with the Outlaw Star ship. Initially a stolen artifact, she becomes a central member of the crew, developing deep feelings for Gene.
