Plot Progression

2. The Island's First Trial — Cody arrives at Pen-Gu Island, meets Lani, and challenges the reigning champion after seeing Big Z's memorial vandalized. The duel ends with Cody injured and rescued by Lani.
3. The Hidden Surfing Legend — While recovering, Cody follows a missing necklace and a runaway koa log to a hidden shack. He discovers that the recluse Geek is actually Big Z.
4. Learning To Ride Freely — Cody struggles with Big Z's teaching and destroys his first handmade board. With Lani's encouragement, he patiently builds another board and learns that surfing is about enjoyment rather than status.
5. The Final Wave Of Courage — Cody returns to the competition and reaches the finals with Chicken Joe. He risks himself to protect Joe, survives the Boneyards, accepts defeat, and sees Big Z return publicly.
