Character Relationships in Glass Mask

Maya Kitajima (played by Masako Katsuki) is a protagonist in Glass Mask. Maya is a passionately devoted aspiring stage actress whose talent is discovered by Chigusa Tsukikage. She competes with Ayumi Himekawa for the chance to play the lead in The Crimson Goddess, repeatedly risking herself for her roles. Driven by a need to prove her worth after her mother's dismissive treatment, she also receives encouragement from Masumi Hayami, though she does not know he is her anonymous fan. Masumi Hayami (played by Katsuji Mori) is a protagonist in Glass Mask. Masumi is the young president of Daito, an ambitious entrepreneur who often appears cold and crafty in his dealings with Maya. In secret, he supports and encourages her as the anonymous fan known for sending purple roses. He falls in love with Maya, while she hates him because she associates him with Daito's efforts against Chigusa's acting school. Rei Aoki (played by Keiko Toda) appears in Glass Mask. Sayaka Minazuki (played by Miho Yoshida) appears in Glass Mask. Ayumi Himekawa (played by Minori Matsushima) appears in Glass Mask. Ayumi is a gifted, multi-talented actress and Maya's skilled rival. Seeking a successor capable of performing its lead role, she discovers Maya's exceptional acting talent. She refuses to sell the play's rights to Daito, prompting efforts to drive her acting school out of business.
