Joe arrives in Banff expecting a birthday vacation but is mistaken for a wealthy technology executive. He accepts the misunderstanding and enjoys luxury experiences with Courtney while privately struggling with the belief that his failed relationship reflected his shortcomings. As his feelings for Courtney deepen, he must decide to confess the truth. Alan (played by Jacob Blair) appears in A Winter Getaway.
Alan is the billionaire owner of the successful technology company Cyber Gophers and the original recipient of the Banff vacation. After canceling at the last minute, he transfers the prepaid trip to Joe as a birthday gift, then explains the arrangement by phone and encourages Joe to accept help with rebuilding his life. Dana (played by Daina Leitold) appears in A Winter Getaway.
Dana investigates the confusion surrounding the trip’s billing and discovers that the vacation was transferred as a gift to Joe. She tells Courtney that Joe owns a huge company, but Courtney misunderstands the explanation and continues believing that Joe is wealthy, unintentionally prolonging the deception.
