After conventional violence fails to subdue Hickup, the heroes resort to tickling him until he temporarily flees. Humiliated, Hickup kidnaps Salvation Sue and rides out of town while his gang blocks the heroes. The bartender breaks free and initiates a desperate chase toward Hickup's hideout.

The bartender finally catches up to Hickup at his isolated shack and successfully subdues him using the same tickling tactic. Together with the sheriff, they push the entire shack off a steep hill, permanently removing the threat from the town. Peace is finally restored to Mad Dog Gulch.

Story Breakdown

The story involves Arbuckle coming to the western town of Mad Dog Gulch after being thrown off a train and chased by Indians. He teams up with gambler/saloon owner Bill Bullhum, in trying to keep the evil Wild Bill Hickup away from Salvation Army girl, Salvation Sue. Fatty and Buster have a series of adventures trying to beat St. John, until they discover his one weakness: his ticklishness.
