Plot Progression

1. Visions Beyond New York — Jake experiences visions of a warlock, a Gunslinger, and a threatened Tower. Dismissed by adults, he escapes through a portal into Mid-World.
2. The Gunslinger's Burden — Jake meets Roland and learns that psychic children are being used against the Dark Tower. Their search for a shortcut leads them to a dangerous village attack.
3. Grief And Preparation — Roland returns to New York for treatment while Jake searches for the secret laboratory. After Jake discovers his mother's charred remains, Roland vows revenge and trains him.
4. The Laboratory Siege — Jake is captured and placed inside the shine-conversion machine. His telepathic guidance helps Roland reach the base and fight through its defenders.
5. The Creed Prevails — The warlock wounds and disarms Roland, but Jake recalls the Gunslinger's Creed. Roland uses a trick shot, kills the warlock, destroys the machine, and accepts Jake as an apprentice.
