Story Analysis

A mercenary escape collapses into a supernatural struggle in which greed, betrayal, and reanimated violence destroy the group.

Plot Progression

1. The Stolen Escape — The mercenaries steal the money and begin an aircraft escape. Bert betrays the group by parachuting away with the loot.
2. The Field Awakens — Bert reaches the abandoned farmhouse and discovers that the field contains an unnatural threat. A scarecrow kills him after his escape fails.
3. Cash and Corpses — The surviving mercenaries investigate the field and encounter Bert's reanimated body. The money becomes inseparable from increasingly grotesque violence.
4. The Scarecrow Hunt — Jack is killed, Curry identifies the apparent supernatural cause, and the group fragments while trying to escape. The scarecrows eliminate the remaining searchers one by one.
5. The Burning Flight — Corbin reaches the aircraft but faces one final reanimated attacker. A grenade explosion ends the confrontation, followed by a grim news report.
